11:15 am Forum Discussion or LifeSpan Learning Opportunities

After each Sunday Service (other then the 1st service of the month- Fellowship Sunday)  – there will be an opportunity to further discuss ask questions, etc. on the service subject of the day in a small group setting.

Or join the other LifeSpan Learning class being offered after the service or experience an intergenerational class with the  children in the lower hall.

Feb 19th Inner Explorations with Collage

Collage—cutting or tearing and pasting pieces of paper to make something new—is a simple and fun right-brain activity that any and all can enjoy, whether you think of yourself as ‗artistic‘ or not. We‘ll use collage in this session to explore and express who we are and what‘s important to us. Feel free to bring any magazines you‘d like to see re-purposed.

Feb 12th 2012 New Community Youth Development Corporation

Special Guests from the New Community Youth Development Corporation (NCYDC)

This new not-for-profit organization uses social enterprise to empower and train at-risk youth in Saskatoon. Current micro-businesses include producing solar ovens, a cabinetry program, a market garden and bakery (Nestor’s/Three Sisters). The NCYDC also has its own registered independent high school. The Unitarian Congre-gation is donating half its collection in January and February to this organization. This is a great opportunity to learn what your donations are being used for.

Why all the fuss about the Keystone XL pipline? Ann Coxworth will provide an introduction to the issues around the old sands and suggest why many people are calling for a cautious approach.  Perhaps this will lead into a wider discussion about economic development and sustainability.

Jan 22 – Tai Chi as a Spiritual Practice Leader:  Kirby McInnis

Tai Chi is taught in many countries by non-profit organizations who simply wish all to experience  its calming and beneficial effects.  Tai Chi is a low-impact, beautiful movement appropriate for all ages.  Join us as we explore the basic moves of this ancient art.
