Position: RE Colour Group Coordinator

Responsibilities:

1. Preparation
  • Participate in the selection of curricula and planning of special events for the group.
  • Collect names and phone numbers of Colour Group volunteers from the DRE
  • Arrange to meet with volunteers of a Teaching Team early in the program year
  • Create a teaching schedule; this could be for the entire year or from Sept. to Dec., or January to June.
  • Deliver copies of the teaching schedule to volunteers and the DRE.
2. On-going Work
  • In consultation with the DRE, recruit members of the teaching team.
  • Keep in touch with volunteers to make sure the schedule is working and they are enjoying their experience.
  • Keep the DRE informed of the schedule and of any substitutions.
  • Ask the DRE to find other substitutes when no members of the teaching team are available for any particular Sunday morning.
3. Follow up
  • Meet with the DRE twice per year to provide feedback on the program in general, curriculum, and teaching teams.

Interests: Interest in organization and volunteer satisfaction; interest in children, youth and learning; commitment to the Mission of the R.E. Program and to the Unitarian Universalist Principles.

Time Commitment: (suggestion only)
1-2 meetings per year; monthly contact with volunteers either at UCS or via email.
