Position: Religious Education Committee Member

Responsibilities:

  1. Preparation
  • Read the volunteer expectations for all RE functions, the DRE job description, and other preparatory material provided by the DRE.
  1. On-going Work
  • Support the DRE and help her to carry out her job.
  • Attend committee meetings.
  • Inform the committee convener and DRE well in advance if unable to attend.
  • Contribute ideas about RE programming and review ideas contributed by others.
  • On request by the DRE, help in recruiting volunteers for the RE program.
  • Participate in some joint activities of the committee, including some but not all of the following: teaching Sunday school classes; helping with fundraising or training events; preparing for intergenerational services; assisting with social events such as games and crafts evenings.
3. Interests: Interest in organization and volunteer satisfaction; interest in children, youth and learning; commitment to the Mission of the R.E. Program and to the Unitarian Universalist Principles.

Time Commitment: (suggestion only)

  • About 8-9 meetings per year, 1-2 hours each
  • Frequent contact by e-mail (or phone) to consult on proposed programs and draft documents.
  • Participation in joint activities: no required time commitment is specified.
