Work with the Board in the recruitment and hiring of the Director
of Religious Education (DRE).

Ensure that DREs yearly contract is signed by all parties.

Plan to hold a meeting in the June-Aug time frame to prepare for
the upcoming church school year.

Plan a calendar of monthly RE Committee meetings for the year.

Set calendar for RE events at calendar setting meeting.
2. On-going Work

Delegate jobs to committee members as necessary: secretary; childcare
coordinator; teacher staffing; snack purchasing;

Liaise with the DRE, Board of Trustees and RE liaison, minister
etc.

Provide ongoing supervision and support of the DRE.

Set agenda for each monthly RE meeting, using previous agendas,
the DRE monthly report, and requests from committee members and DRE.

Facilitate meetings.

Oversee activities of the committee members.
3. Follow-up

Prepare written and oral report of committee activites for the
Annual Meeting in May.

Carry out an annual review of the DREs job performance in
cooperation with the RE Committee and the Board.
