Position: Child
Care Provider (Nursery)
Responsibilities:
Note: If a volunteer is in place as the Child Care Coordinator,
then the babysitter reports to that person rather than to the DRE.
- Sunday Morning
-
Arrive at 10:00 am to make
sure all toys are set up for the children and supplies are in place.
(i.e. extra diapers, changing cloths etc.) See the DRE if supplies
are needed.

Welcome parents and orient
new families to the Nursery and the Quiet Room.

Encourage children to come
and play with you when they arrive.

Encourage older children
to attend RE classes with their own age group. Advise the DRE if the
child requires extra coaching.

Accompany or delegate a parent
to help with washroom needs. Children should not be left alone in
the Nursery nor go to the washroom unaccompanied. (If no parent is
helping in the Nursery, inform the DRE as soon as possible.)

Encourage parents to leave
children with you and attend the service with the understanding you
will come and find them if needed.

If a child needs his/her
caregiver, have the parent watch the children while you locate the
caregiver in question. Take the child with you.

Ask that parents whose child
is nervous to sit in a visible area of Coburn Hall or suggest the
use of the Quiet room adjacent to the Nursery.

Play with the children J

Clean up the room with the
help of the children around 11:45 am.

Wait with the children until
the caregiver comes to pick them up. (Until noon only).

give the DRE feedback as
to how the morning went.

make notes in the communication
binder.

fill out your time sheet.
Interests: Interest in
children and learning. A willingness to work with parents to provide
a caring and nurturing environment for the children.
Time Commitment: 10:00
to 12:00 Sundays
Remuneration: $20 per
Sunday, paid monthly.
